Chapter 48

Jendal reprimands Kênia and imprisons Dumi. José is attacked by Mirinho’s henchmen. Mirinho interrupts the staged mugging of José and poses as his savior. Alika/Lúcia tends to Mirinho, who dislocated his shoulder while supposedly saving José. Virgínia rescues Mirinho from Alika/Lúcia’s house. Kênia is overcome with despair upon realizing that Dumi is to be executed. Jendal surprises everyone and pardons Dumi.
